Welcome to Heller Guitars!

My professional woodworking career spans the last 30 years. Many years ago I became interested in classical guitars. I studied and was inspired by the guitars of Antonio de Torres, Hermann Hauser, Manuel Ramirez, Santos Hernandez and Miguel Rodriguez. I have combined the influence from these classical masters with my own innovation. The result is a highly refined traditional classical guitar.

As a San Diego native and resident I had the pleasure of meeting Celino Romero several years ago. Through Celino I met his father Celin, his uncle Pepe Sr. and cousin Pepe Jr. Pepe Romero Jr. has become a close friend and great inspiration to me. He is an exceptional luthier and I am very grateful for the countless hours he has spent advising and guiding me. Upon completion, each of my guitars are played by Pepe Romero Sr., Celin, Celino and Pepe Jr. The Romero’s influence and guidance has helped to shape my guitars into the world-class instruments they are today.
